We believe that meaningful work is vital to human flourishing.

In Escuintla, we have partnered with Maná de Vida to launch students into meaningful work that enables them to support themselves and their families, and to share with others.

Microenterprise and business development are other sources of job creation.

Students receive training in business planning and implementation. Several small businesses have been created through the program including construction and welding services and a bakery. Tios has provided leadership training and funding for other small businesses. Recently, Tios sponsored a competition where students submitted business plans and the top entries were awarded funding to implement the plan.

Students are given excellent basic education that prepares them to go to universities near and far.

Students can receive advanced training in medicine, electricity, welding, construction, cosmetology, and culinary arts. Sponsorship provides scholarships for all of these programs for students who would not otherwise be able to pay. Students that attend universities are also eligible for scholarships.

The students are going far with their English abilities.

English House is open, and we’re excited to see the students' English progress in this excellent learning environment. The students are receiving English regularly in their curriculum and we focus on practicing when we visit. Our English immersion camp weeks are the newest avenue for helping students excel by creating and immersion experience right on the campus! Join us on a mission trip and share your English skills with the students to help open doors and create opportunities in their lives.
